A Complete Guide to Vegetarian Dining on the Disney Wonder

Cruising with Disney is a magical experience for guests of all ages, offering world-class entertainment, one of a kind activities, character meet and greets, and client experience with that extra Disney pixie dust.

But what about food?

For vegetarians, cruising can sometimes be a bit tricky, but not on the Disney Wonder! Disney’s commitment to dietary preferences and restrictions means there’s a wide variety of options available, ensuring that your cruise dining experience is just as magical as the rest of your cruise.

If you're planning a trip aboard the Disney Wonder and want to ensure your vegetarian dining needs are fully met, here’s your ultimate guide to navigating every meal, from breakfast to dinner, and everything in between.

Let Disney know about your dietary preferences

The first step to ensuring a seamless dining experience on your cruise is letting Disney know about your dietary preferences. Talk to your servers at dinner and they will guide you through the ins and outs of the menus each night. Disney is known for accommodating various dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free.

Dining locations on the Disney Wonder

The Disney Wonder offers several dining venues, each offering a variety of options that cater to vegetarians.

Main dining rooms

Disney is famous for its rotational dining service, where you, your table mates and your service team rotate between the main dining rooms each night. The bonus for those of us with dietary demands is that you only need to let your service team know about your needs on the first night and they remember for the rest of your cruise. Each of the dining rooms on the Wonder have at least two (and often more) vegetarian options to choose from

  • Triton’s: One of the primary dining locations, Triton’s offers an upscale ambiance inspired by The Little Mermaid. On the 2024/25 sailing, the vegetarian options included wild mushrooms stuffed pasta in a vegetable broth and grilled marinated tofu, roasted zucchini, eggplant and red peppers. See the full menu here

  • Tiana’s Place: A New Orleans themed dining experience with live music, Mardi Gras beads, and possibly a visit from Louis. The vegetarian options included artichoke ravioli with sauteed spinach, lemon butter and sage, and Honey roasted butternut squash with celery and peppers simmered in tomato sauce. See the full menu here.

  • Animator’s Palate: A fun, interactive dining experience, Animator’s Palate allows you to experience the artistry of Disney while enjoying your meal. The vegetarian options included black bean chipotle cakes with tomato cilantro salsa and Sesame halloumi parcles with sweet potato tahini mash See the full menu here

Buffet

Cabanas: For a more casual dining experience, head to Cabanas. The buffet restaurant offers a range of vegetarian dishes, such as rice and vegetable stir-fries, salads, and freshly baked breads. Look out for the green signage to denote the vegetarian options. Also, don’t be afraid to ask cast if there are any specials on for the day, not everything is on the printed menus

Quick service and casual dining:

  • Pete's Boiler Bites: You can also enjoy plant-based burgers (aka drawer burgers) and sometimes the special of the day is vege-based hot dogs.

  • Daisy's De-Lites: Enjoy a large selection of fresh vegetables, salads, fruit, and cookies. On the Wonder, there is a build your own salad option too.

  • Pinocchio’s Pizzeria: They offer vegetarian pizza options that can be customized to your liking with a variety of veggie toppings.

Room service: Dining in the Comfort of Your Stateroom

Most room service items are included in your cruise fare, and many vegetarian options are available, including salads, soups, pasta, and desserts. A new addition to the menu is the highly anticipated plant-based chicken sandwich, which we can’t wait to try next time.

Special Dining Experiences Just for Adults

For adults looking for something a little extra, Disney offers exclusive dining experiences that also cater to vegetarians.

  • Palo: This adults-only restaurant offers a legendary brunch menu that’s well worth the extra cost. While many dishes are meat-focused, the attentive cast is more than happy to recommend vegetarian options or adjust existing dishes to suit your dietary preferences.

  • Crown & Fin Pub: After dark, the Crown & Fin transforms into an intimate spot with a hidden buffet that appears after 10pm. We’ve found a few vegetarian-friendly options each night to pair with a refreshing beer.

Pro tips for vegetarians on the Disney Wonder

  • Don’t be afraid to ask: Disney staff are always happy to make adjustments to dishes or suggest alternative options to ensure your dietary needs are met.

  • Check the daily specials: Not everything is listed on the menu, so keep an eye out for special plant-based dishes that might not be advertised. We were offered off menu plant based Indian means in the main dining room.

  • Plan ahead: For specialty restaurants like Palo, you almost always need to book reservations early. Let the team know about your dietary preferences when you make your booking.
