The location where Taskmaster AU and NZ show is filmed is no big secret. A quick google search reveals that Taskmaster Retreat (aka Taskmaster Ranch) is actually HUs Boutique Venue and is about half an hour outside of Auckland.
As we were planning to drive from Auckland up to Gibbs Farm anyway, and we may have seen just about every episode of Taskmaster ever, it was only natural that we added a slight detour into our trip.
The road up is just like any other NZ residential country road; quiet, curvy and green. When we found Croft Lane, we actually pulled up to the wrong house at first. Most of the fronts of most of the homes are hidden behind tall green hedges, it was an easy mistake to make. And it’s not like there was a ‘Hey Taskmaster nerds, get your selfie here’ sign on the front of the property.
But once we figured out our mistake we found the familiar grey farm style house and did our best to take a few photos and selfies through the fence without looking like stalkers or annoying the neighbors.
There is a large fence and hedges surrounding the property so we couldn’t go on the property, but it was fine for us, we got to see it. From what we could see, sadly the iconic yellow Taskmaster AU/NZ caravan is not a regular resident of the property.
